"You have to let go of who you were to become who you will be."

I was born in Ontario, Canada, where I spent thirteen years in Vancouver, B.C. and two years in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia before settling in St. Petersburg, FL. Currently practicing Energy healing and making jewelry at 222 2nd st N and continue to co-create my life and dreams. My passions include photography, scuba diving, growing carnivorous plants and orchids, and further unleashing my creativity with aquarium design and terrariums.
As a child, I spent most of my time in nature. Being with plants and animals allowed me to get lost in a world of discovery. I have always been drawn to the 'unknown', and curious about the various spiritual paths people take for enlightenment--being in nature helped me connect with that. My thirst for spiritual understanding continued to grow in my teens, and as I read book after book, my soul felt more satisfied. I soon realized that the elated feeling I got was a whisper from my higher self that said, "you’re on the right path" and "keep going." In my mid teens, I stumbled upon a Yoga book which had some basic illustrations of poses and yoga basics. I loved the peaceful mind and the gentle hum in my body that it brought me. Within months of that, I came across a book on the bargain shelf of a book store called, Discover Your Psychic Powers, (and I still have it). This encouraged meditation and intuitive development techniques that I didn't know I was hungering for. Once I began to practice meditation, it was an upward spiral. I wanted to test if what I was reading could be true, and it certainly was. Reiki started popping up in my life as a young adult and the more I read about it, the more it felt like it was already a part of me. Healing felt like an innate part of my daily life. I would try and use my 'imagination' to heal the fish in my aquarium or other animals I came across in the wild, while communing in nature. I would just pretend that I could send them healing thought and that it was happening. Reading about an ancient way of healing using energy, kind of blew my mind but also made perfect sense. This resonated and integrated beautifully with a deep knowing within me.
In my final teen years, diving into energy healing became a mission.
Reiki opened up a whole new world of possibilities for me and gave me plenty of space to grow. As I entered my twenties, I wanted to experience Reiki for myself, so I found a practitioner and booked an appointment. My experience was profound and confirming. There was a point where it felt as though there were 3 sets of hands working on me. After my session, I shared my experience with the practitioner and he explained that sometimes there are others helping, angels or other light beings. He said, other times it's residual energy still absorbing into the body after his hands have moved. Days after that, I met with my first Reiki teacher-- Canela Michelle Meyers. We had an instant connection. Her loving and welcoming energy helped me feel relaxed and receptive. She lovingly help me integrate Reiki into my life and taught me my first two levels of this ancient energy healing practive. One of my favorite sayings is, "when the student is ready the teacher will appear." And that is exactly what happened. I really wanted to complete the Reiki series with Canela, but I had moved and we just couldn't make it work. The timing wasn’t right. Shortly after establishing my residence in St. Petersburg, divine order brought my new teacher, Ron Bates, to me and his new student to him. Meeting Ron was a great lesson in ask and you shall receive. Ron opened my world to the Angelic beings and the vast teachings that are available to us now as we all try to do our best. I wanted a teacher that could help me help others and guide from their personal experiences. A few weeks after I voiced my request to the universe we were introduced to each other. Now I've been practicing Reiki for over 10 years, and it's time to do for others what others have so kindly done for me. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't find a lesson to be learned or a client that can teach me something new. Life is not stagnant by nature and therefore the longer I practice different disciplines the richer my experience becomes.
About my personal journey
Healing is a very deep but simple process that requires us to be soft, receptive and in a place of allowing. Most of the time, we complicate it believing it needs to be difficult in order to have an affect. This is an illusion. Healing, however, is as difficult as you make it. The sooner you realize you hold the key to your own healing, the richer your experience becomes.

From my life, I have learned about healing through difficult moments, hard times, challenging transitions, and painful disappointments. These internal and external struggles have been my biggest teachers, and have helped me grow the most. I understood the concept that our challenges are 'opportunities', but I struggled calling them that, because being the victim and not taking responsibility was easier. Yet over time, as I faced the more difficult emotions, and leaned how to free myself from them, I found greater gratitude. Every day I try to not bury my shames and difficult emotions; instead I’ve come to look at them without judgment and learned to embrace them as lessons. I have been rewarded in life by doing this work, and now I approach situations from a place of love. I have learned that when I make choices for my highest good as an individual, I am also serving the collective good. I have grown from someone who experienced many difficult emotions like anxiety and depression, to someone who sees life as profound, expansive and encouraging.
I believe that these lessons are reflecting back to us, where our work is, where we can grow, and what we can let go of in order to be lighter and more in alignment with our most natural self. I believe that when healing takes place, we become clear enough to see and experience things that we may have not noticed before. When we heal, we remove stagnant energies and other things that no longer serve us. The energy flows when we are in our natural state of being. When we return to that and maintain it, the possibilities are endless. We become co-creators in our lives instead of just helpless observers.
The encouragement I would like to give others on their own healing journey is to do your best without attaching judgment. If you feel you could do better, be gentle and patient with yourself. The fact that you're trying is enough. If you don’t understand the actions of others, try to let them be on their path in the same way you are on yours. You are helping them by helping yourself. We are all trying to figure it out and its tough sometimes. For all of us. But we get there, and we're grateful for the struggles.
With many blessing and the deepest love.
